When you purchase AVG Internet Security via another AVG application on your Windows PC, or the AVG Store, your subscription activates automatically on the device used for purchase.
If you purchase AVG Internet Security via an alternative sales channel, you need to activate your subscription manually by following the instructions in this article. You also need to activate AVG Internet Security manually when you start using your subscription on a new PC.
NOTE: Before following the activation steps in this article, ensure the latest version of AVG Internet Security is installed on your PC. For instructions, refer to the following article:

If you already have an AVG Account linked to the email address that you provided during purchase, you can activate your subscription by logging in to AVG Internet Security with your AVG Account credentials. If you do not yet have an AVG Account, you can activate your subscription by creating an AVG Account with the email address you provided when purchasing AVG Internet Security.
Refer to instructions in the relevant section below to either log in to an existing AVG Account or create a new AVG Account.
Log in to an existing AVG Account
- Open the AVG Internet Security user interface and go to My AVG ▸ My Subscription.

- Select Log in to your AVG Account.

- Ensure the Log In tab is selected, then enter the login credentials for your existing AVG Account and click Log In.

- Click Continue to confirm that your subscription is now active and return to the My Subscription screen.

Your AVG Internet Security subscription is now active. Your subscription details are visible via My AVG ▸ My Subscription ▸ Subscriptions on this PC.
You can activate your subscription simultaneously on the number of devices specified during purchase. To verify the device limit for your subscription, check your AVG Account linked to the email address provided during purchase, or an order confirmation email.
Create a new AVG Account
- Open the AVG Internet Security user interface and go to My AVG ▸ My Subscription.

- Select Log in to your AVG Account.

- Ensure the Create Account tab is selected, enter the email address linked to your purchase and create a password for your new AVG Account, then click Create Account.

- A dialog appears prompting you to verify that the email address you provided is really yours. Go to your email inbox and open the email from AVG with the subject Please verify your email address.

- Click the Confirm My Email link in the email.

- Click Continue in your web browser to confirm that your new AVG Account is created. The AVG Account dashboard loads.

- Return to the AVG Internet Security user interface, and click Continue to confirm that your email address is now verified.

- In the confirmation dialog that appears, click Continue to confirm that your subscription is now active and return to the My Subscription screen.

Your AVG Internet Security subscription is now active. Your subscription details are visible via My AVG ▸ My Subscription ▸ Subscriptions on this PC.

Troubleshoot activation issues
If you experience any activation issues:
- Ensure you have correctly entered your activation code, including hyphens.
- If activation using your activation code still doesn't work, try activating using your AVG Account.

Further recommendations
To transfer your subscription to an alternative PC, uninstall AVG Internet Security from the previous PC, before reinstalling and activating AVG Internet Security on an alternative PC.
