Trend Micro - Change mode - from Advanced to Classic

Summary

To support different administrator experience levels, the new user interface of Worry-Free Business Security Services defaults to the Classic Mode. In this mode, all essential protection features are enabled automatically.

Classic Mode is user-friendly. However, administrators who need more detailed configuration can switch to the Advanced Mode, which allows complex policy definitions by user, OS, IP, or device level.

This article explains how to switch between Advanced Mode and Classic Mode.

Note:
WFBS-SVC accounts based on the Licensing Management Platform (LMP) – including standalone CLP accounts registered in Trend Micro Remote Manager (TMRM) – cannot currently switch to the Advanced Mode UI.

How to switch to the Classic Mode User Interface:

  1. Log on to the WFBS-SVC console and click Policies.

4. After the switch, the Policy Management section will no longer be visible – confirming that you are now in Classic Mode.

Note:
If you are a CLP user and do not see the “Switch to Classic Mode” button, it means your account does not have sufficient permissions. This action requires the role of Primary Administrator.
  • The user who created the CLP account is automatically the Primary Administrator.
  • Only one Primary Administrator is allowed, but the current one can be changed by editing account info.
  • Only the Primary Administrator can manage user accounts and switch between Classic and Advanced Modes.

To check if you are the Primary Administrator:

  1. Log in at Customer Licensing Portal.
  2. Go to Account Name > My Account.
  3. In the Managed Services section, you will see your access rights for Worry-Free Business Security Services.

How to switch to the Advanced Mode User Interface:

  1. Log on to the WFBS-SVC console and click Policies.
