ABBYY FineReader - Activation

After installing ABBYY FineReader PDF 15, the program must be activated in order to run in full mode. Until ABBYY FineReader PDF 15 is activated, the program will run in test mode, where you can try out the program, but the number of pages that can be saved is limited and the program cannot be started after a certain period of time.

To activate ABBYY FineReader PDF 15:

In the New Task window, click Help > Activate....
Enter your serial number or download a license file if available.

Select one of the four activation options displayed in the Activation Wizard:

Activation via Internet.
Activation is automatic and takes only a few seconds. An active Internet connection is required for this method.
Activation via the ABBYY websiteClick the link in the Activation Wizard to open the activation page.
Copy the Product ID in the Activation Wizard and paste it into the corresponding field on the page.
Copy the serial number in the Activation Wizard and paste it into the appropriate field on the page.
Save the licence file to your hard disk.
In the Activation Wizard, click Next and then enter the path to the licence file.
Click Next.

ABBYY FineReader PDF 15 will be activated and run in full mode immediately.

Activation by e-mail
The program will generate an e-mail containing all the information required for activation.
Send this e-mail without changing the content and subject. You will receive a reply message with a licence file.
Save the licence file on your hard disk.
In the Activation Wizard, enter the path to the licence file.

ABBYY FineReader PDF 15 will be activated and run in full mode immediately.

Activation by e-mail from another computer
Select this activation method if ABBYY FineReader PDF 15 cannot be activated on the computer on which it is installed (for example, there is no Internet connection or e-mail cannot be sent).
Save the licence information in a text file.
Create a new email on a computer that can send emails. Enter Activation Request as the subject and FineReader-activation@abbyy.com in the To.... field.
Copy the contents of the text file into the e-mail. Make no changes to ensure your message is processed automatically and you will receive a reply shortly.
Send the e-mail. You will receive a reply message with a licence file.
Save the licence file to your hard disk.
In the Activation Wizard, enter the path to the licence file.

ABBYY FineReader PDF 15 will be activated and run in full mode from now on.

Once you have activated ABBYY FineReader, it can be installed on the same computer as many times as you wish without having to activate it again. However, if significant changes are made to the computer's hardware configuration, the hard disk is formatted, or the operating system is reinstalled, you will need a licence file again and will have to reactivate ABBYY FineReader.
