Adjusting the Storage Location of Personal Folders (Troubleshooting for Network PCs Windows 10/11)

To work around this problem, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Windows logo in the lower left corner of the screen and then click Run.

  2. Type Registry Editor and press ENTER. When the User Account Control window appears, click Yes.

  3. In the registry editor, change to the following path:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

  4. Use the following table to locate the registry key for the folder that is experiencing this problem and change it to the default value.

  5.  At the end you close everything and can download and install the desired software.
